Porting a list from another provider

Bringing your list from another provider/ESP

If you're switching to ReachMail from another Email Service Provider (ESP), you may want to bring your existing list with you. Before importing, review our List Collection Best Practices and Acceptable Usage Policy to ensure compliance. If you have questions, contact support@reachmail.com.

Exporting and Importing Your List

Transferring your list is typically straightforward—export from your previous ESP and import into ReachMail. However, it's crucial to exclude:

  • Opted-out addresses – These recipients have unsubscribed and must not be re-added.
  • Invalid (hard bounced) addresses – These have been reported as undeliverable by mailbox providers (e.g., Yahoo, Gmail, MSN).

Why This Matters

Including these addresses can harm your email deliverability and violate our policies, leading to account termination. Most ESPs offer an option to export only active recipients—use that feature to ensure compliance.

Next Steps

Once you have a clean, active list, follow our List Upload Guide for step-by-step import instructions.
