Where to Find Link Tracking Info

You can access Link Tracking while editing a mailing. It’s recommended to check this section for every mailing to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

  • Edit your mailing
  • Go to the Link Tracking tab
  • Review and configure your link tracking settings before sending

 

Reporting for tracking links in a delivered campaign can be found within the Individual Campaign Report.

  • Go to the Reports tab
  • Select Campaign Reports
  • Open your campaign
  • View results under the Link Tracking or Heatmap tab

The Link Tracking Tab

ReachMail automatically scans your HTML and text content for URLs. Only properly formatted URLs can be tracked. Links without a protocol (http:// or https://) will not be tracked. All URLs are tested, and any failures will appear under the Broken URLs section below.

  • Review any flagged URLs in the Broken URLs section
  • If no issues are found, click Next to proceed

You can expand each section by clicking the + next to HTML Links or Text Links:

When a URL in your content fails a check, you will see that displayed like this:

Expand the section with the broken URL by click the + sign to view the failing URL. When you have identified the problem, go to the HTML Copy / Message Builder Tab and correct the URL.

Broken URLs are deselected for Link Tracking in the Campaign to avoid unexpected consequences.

Take note of the Legend on the Page which labels failure in orange, mean to denote caution when proceeding.

False Positives

It’s best to copy and paste the URL into your browser to test it. If it works in your browser, it should work for your email recipients. If the URL works correctly, make sure Link Tracking is enabled for it.

  • Copy and paste the URL into your browser to test
  • Confirm the URL loads correctly
  • Go to the Link Tracking tab
  • Enable Link Tracking for that URL
