Individual Campaign Report Glossary


Careful analysis of mailing reports is key to understanding the effectiveness of any given mailing and the overall health of any email marketing efforts. This glossary can be used to understand the various terms and parameters in a campaign report.

General Information
Campaign Score A ReachMail specific score generated by analyzing bounce, complaint, open, and click rates against the gross or net volume sent. Higher scores are better, maximum score is 100.
Mailing The name of the Mailing used in this campaign
Scheduled Delivery The date and time the campaign was scheduled to be sent. 
Delivered The date and time the campaign was fully delivered.
Overview Tab
Delivery Rate The emails that were delivered out of the total sent. (NOTE this doesn't mean the emails that were inboxed, just those accepted by the recipient server)
Open Rate The percent number of recipients that opened the email out of the emails received. 
Click Rate The percent and number of clickers out of those emails that were sent. 
Negative Metrics This is the percentage of soft bounces, hard bounces and Spam complaints for this campaign. Best Practices give the information on what percentages are acceptable. 
Delivery Report Both Chart and List views of the delivered and bounces of your send.
Provider Openers Report Both Chart and List views of the openers for the top providers of your list.

Recipient Summary Table
Recipients Section
  • Tentative: Gross count of subscribers in the target lists before any suppression filters have been applied.
  • Suppressed: Gross subscribers suppressed by filters, cross-list duplication, account opt-out list, and known invalid (hard bounced) addresses.
  • Sent: Net of Tentative and Suppressed. This is the final summary of attempted deliveries.
  • Delivered: Net of Sent and Bounces. This is the final summary of successful deliveries.
Openers Section
  • Mobile: Gross opens tracked to a mobile device.
  • Desktop: Gross opens tracked to a desktop or laptop.
  • Open Rate: Gross opens against Delivered.
Bounces Section
  • Total: Gross of Soft and Hard. This link can be clicked for details and downloads of specific bounce categories.
  • Soft: Summary of soft bounced addresses (temporary failures).
  • Hard: Summary of hard bounced (invalid) addresses.
Unsubscribes Section
  • Opt-Outs: Summary of recipients opting-out.
  • Spam Reports: Summary of recipients reporting the message as spam.
Suppression: Lists-Segments-Tags Table
List name Each List used as a suppression
Recipient Count (current) The count of recipients at the time of sending on the suppression segment.

  • List name for each list sent in this campaign
  • Subscribers on the list at time of send per list
  • Suppressed count per list
  • Sent count per list
  • Delivered count per list
Openers Section

Undeliverable by Provider Report

Both Chart and List views of the bounces for the top providers of your list. 

Bounce Table

The dynamic list of bounces types within your campaign. You can download each bounce type or the list as a whole.

Unsubscribe Summary

Graphical representation of the reasons people are unsubscribing from your email.

Unsubscribe Table
  • Email: Email address of the unsubscribe
  • Unsubscribe Reason: The reason selected by this recipient
  • Unsubscribe Date: the date this email unsubscribed.
