Adding and Removing Links in Your Email

Links allow recipients to quickly navigate to websites, email addresses, forms, and other resources directly from your email. Using the HTML Copy tab, you can easily insert standard links or special dynamic links into your mailing.

Add a Link

  1. Navigate to the HTML Copy tab while creating or editing your email.

  2. In the editor toolbar, click the Link dropdown.

  1. Select the type of link you would like to create:

    Hyperlink-Email.png
  • Hyperlink – Directs recipients to a webpage or URL.

  • Email Address – Opens the recipient’s email client to send an email.

 

Creating a Hyperlink

If you select Hyperlink, a settings window will appear with the following options:

Field Description
URL The website address the link will open.
Text to Display The text that will appear in the email for recipients to click.
Title Optional hover text displayed when a recipient places their cursor over the link.
Target Controls how the link opens (for example, opening in a new browser tab).

To insert the hyperlink

  1. Enter the appropriate information in each field.

  2. Click OK.

Your hyperlink will now be inserted into the email content.


Creating an Email Link

If you select Email Address, a prompt will appear requesting the email address you want to link to.

To insert the email link

  1. Enter the desired email address.

  2. Click OK.

When a recipient clicks this link, their default email program will automatically open with the address populated in the To field.

Remove a Link

If you need to remove a link from your email:

  1. Select the linked text within your email content.

  2. Click the Unlink icon in the editor toolbar.

The link will be removed while leaving the text intact.

Inserting Special Links

The editor also includes a Special Links icon that allows you to insert dynamic or system-generated links into your email.

Selecting this icon provides several options:

Special Link Description
Insert Content Tag Inserts dynamic personalization tags into your email based on the content field from your list data.
Insert Link to Document/Content Links to stored documents or hosted content from your Content & Assets Tool.
Insert Link to Signup Form Inserts a link to your Signup form created through ReachMail that automates adding those contacts to your list. 
Insert Forward to a Friend Link Enables recipients to easily share your email.
Insert Opt-Out Link Provides recipients with an unsubscribe option.
Insert Custom Dynamic Date Inserts a dynamic date that updates automatically.

These options make it easy to add advanced functionality without manually writing code.
