ReachMail’s Easy-SMTP service allows you to include an opt-out (unsubscribe) link in the emails you send, ensuring compliance with email marketing regulations and providing recipients with an easy way to stop receiving future messages.
Overview
When you send messages through ReachMail’s Easy-SMTP service, you can include a special tag in your message content that will automatically be replaced with a unique unsubscribe link for each recipient. This link is processed and managed by ReachMail—no additional setup or coding is required.
How It Works
- Include the tag
{{~~UnsubscribeLink~~}} in your message body.
- At send time, ReachMail will replace this tag with a unique, trackable opt-out link.

- When a recipient clicks this link, their email address will be added to your account-level suppression list.

- Once suppressed, any future attempts to send to that address through Easy-SMTP (or any other ReachMail sending method under your account) will be automatically blocked.

Example Usage
HTML Email Example
<p>Thank you for being part of our community.</p>
<p>If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you can <a href="{{~~UnsubscribeLink~~}}">unsubscribe here</a>.</p>
Plain Text Email Example
Thank you for being part of our community.
To unsubscribe from future emails, click the following link:
{{~~UnsubscribeLink~~}}
At send time, {{~~UnsubscribeLink~~}} will be replaced with a full unsubscribe URL, such as:
https://abcd123.l.rch123.me/subscription/?u=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
Important Notes
- The unsubscribe link is optional. If the tag is not included, no opt-out link will appear in your message.

- ReachMail automatically manages the opt-out process and updates your suppression list—no manual action is required.

- Suppressed addresses apply to your entire account, ensuring that no future messages are sent to users who have opted out.

- The tag works in both HTML and plain text email formats.

Best Practices
- Always include an unsubscribe link in marketing or promotional emails to comply with anti-spam regulations (such as CAN-SPAM or GDPR).

- Place the link in a clear, easy-to-find location—commonly in the footer of your message.

- Avoid editing or encoding the tag (
{{~~UnsubscribeLink~~}}), as any changes may prevent it from being replaced properly.
